About UNIGIS@ACA*GIScience

UNIGIS offers internationally recognized academic distance learning qualifications in GIScience and Systems as a one-year UNIGIS Professional Diploma Certificate or a two-year postgraduate MSc. For students from Central Asia UNIGIS these programmes are offered through the Austria-Central Asia Centre for GIScience in Bishkek.

The UNIGIS MSc programme provides an understanding of the conceptual, technical, and organisational aspects of GIScience whereas the UNIGIS Professional Diploma/Certificate programme develops or improves application-oriented skills based on a solid understanding of Geoinformatics. Both programmes are offered in English language with Russian language tutoring and support.
 
Individuals aiming at a career in GI or professionals already active in this field who are interested in continuing education or pursuing an academic qualification while working will find these distance learning programmes particularly attractive. With the acquired know-how from these programmes, graduates are expected to master challenges in business, industry or government in any of the following fields:
